“Jana Gana Mana“[α] (Bengali: জন গণ মন, Hindi: जन गण मन) is the national anthem of India. Written in highly Sanskritized (Tatsama) Bengali, it is the first of five stanzas of a Brahmo hymn composed and scored by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
